James Mattis, byname “Mad Dog”, (born September 8, 1950, Pullman, Washington, U.S.), U.S. Marine Corps general who served as head of Central Command (Centcom) from 2010 to 2013. In 2017 he became secretary of defense in the cabinet of U.S. Pres. Donald Trump. Mattis enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1969.
The Guantanamo Bay detention camp is a United States military prison located within Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, also referred to as Guantánamo or GTMO (/ˈɡɪtmoʊ/), which is on the coast of Guantánamo Bay in Cuba.
